Brown Golf Management History

Brown Golf Management (BGM) is an acquisition and third party management/consulting company.  

Brown Golf’s President and Founder - John Brown; brings 30 plus years of experience as a club manager and PGA Master Professional.  Prior to forming Brown Golf, John spent the last ten years of his career managing the largest and most successful clubs for Troon Golf.  His success with Troon resulted in him twice being awarded the “Most Improved Facility of the Year Award” for all Troon properties in 2007 (Moon Valley Country Club) and in 2009 (St. James Plantation) both of which are private clubs. Most recently, John Brown has been appointed by the PGA of America to a three year term to develop the PGA of America's Golf 2.0 Strategic Initiative Plan.  This is the long range planning committee charged with developing the plan to grow the game of golf from its current 27 million participants to the intended goal of 40 million by 2020.  The committee is comprised of industry leaders from many different aspects of the golf industry.   

Brown Golf Management provides a unique blend of proven financial success and extensive experience in the golf club industry.  Our company’s primary goal is to purchase struggling golf course facilities and make them profitable.  In addition to our company’s acquisition business,  Brown Golf Management also offers third party management and consulting. We believe so strongly in our management systems that every BGM management deal is an incentive based management contract with a small monthly retainer.  Our incentive or back end performance fee is based on successes in achieving a club’s financial goals.  Included in our monthly retainer is our proven management service and full service accounting function.  This turn-key platform provides for a broad based plan for achieving profitability through Brown Golf Management’s core values of operations efficiency, revenue development, and hospitality excellence.

Pinecrest Golf Club in Bluffton, SC is owned and managed by Brown Golf Management and is the headquarters for the corporate office.  Brown Golf Management also has a satellite office in Mechanicsburg, PA.
