Membership FAQ

1. What are the benefits of full memberships? As a full golf member at “The Club of the Sandhills” you’ll receive:

1. NO INITIATION FEES
2. Playing availability on all four 18 hole courses.
3. Full membership privileges at all owned Brown Golf Facilities WITHIN 30 MILES. NO CART/GREEN FEES.
4. Reciprocity with all Brown Golf facilities (outside of a 30 mile radius)—cart fee only.
5. Absolutely free golf instruction.
6. Unlimited free Range Balls.
7. Pool usage at Whispering Pines.
8. Fitness center usage at Whispering Pines.
9. 7 day advanced tee times.
10. Club charge account with credit card on file.
11. Member discount on all golf shop purchases.
12. As a TRAIL FEE member (personal cart owner), if you chose to use the club’s cart, you must pay a CART RENTAL FEE ($18.00 plus tax) for the use of an additional FF/CCWP club cart.
13. 15% discount on lodging at the Villas at the Country Club of Whispering Pines.
14. 15% discount on guest fees (when accompanied by a member).

2. What are the benefits of social memberships?

1. NO INITIATION FEE
2. Pool usage at Whispering Pines.
3. Fitness center usage at Whispering Pines.
4. 10% discount off daily play rate on all four courses.
5. Club dining charge account with credit card on file.
6. Invitation to all non-golf related club social events.
7. 10% discount on lodging at the Villas at the Country Club of Whispering Pines.

3. If my spouse does not play golf or use the club, can I join as a single member?

1. Yes, single memberships are not restricted by marital status. The benefits go with the owner of the membership.

4. I only live in the area 4-6 months a year, is there a seasonal or part-time membership available at a discounted rate?

1. No. Memberships are based ONLY on an annual membership.

5. I am on the Private Trail Plan or the Annual Cart Plan and may wish to play golf at the “other” club (CCWP or Foxfire). Will I be charged a cart fee?

1. No. Your trail fee or annual cart plan is honored at both clubs. All current rules and regulations apply at both CCWP and FF.

6. Will the MGA/LGA at both clubs remain the same?

1. Yes. You may join either, or both or neither of the golf associations offered by either club. You may wish to check with the golf professional staff to see what events are conducted by each of the MGA/LGA organizations respectively. All other “club events” are open to ALL club members.

7. How do I make a tee time at the other club (CCWP member at FF or FF member at CCWP)? How do I make a tee time if I wish to visit a Brown Golf Management reciprocal club outside of the 30 mile radius?

1. You may make a tee time by contacting your “home club” golf professional staff. The golf staff will be glad to schedule your tee times. This is the ONLY way to make a tee time at another Brown Golf Management reciprocal club either inside or outside the 30 mile radius. For Brown Golf Management clubs OUTSIDE the 30 mile radius, there is a nominal cart fee charge.

8. What will be the guest rate?

1. The guest rate will be $35 or the lowest advertised price. (i.e. if a coupon is offered for a $25 round, the guest would pay that price).

9. Is there going to be a food minimum?

1. We are NOT considering a food minimum at this time. However, we do want to try and establish some regularly scheduled member’s dining and event nights. If we can determine that the membership will support these events, we will be glad to gradually increase their frequency.
